You've got a lot of nerve...

I can't knock Jerry & Merl, but check out Positively 4th from 3/1/91. Jerry rips yer guts out.

yes, I've heard incredible things about that 9/16/89 JGB show, yet, I've never heard it nor seen it on any of the download sites. Elusive for me.

09-16-1989 features truly superb Garcia playing, some of his best rock and roll playing ever...(that's right, ever)

"Senor," from the live JGB disc from '90 or '91 (the grey one with the painting on the front). This is one of my favorites that hasnt been mentioned yet. The "Visions of Johanna" from the Fallout from the Phil Zone is incredible.

As for with GD yeah the Visions from Phil Zone is good. I think its Salt Lake City 95? I also like the Tampa and Philly Johannas. Give 'em all a listen. The teleprompters really help Jer on this nugget.

I'm a big Memphis Blues fan and I like 9/19/90, 6/25/91 and 10/9/89. I'll have to check those for nice Jerry backing vocals but these are my top versions of this song. 7/2/88 is neat too - lots of Jer.

As for JGB i think Jerry played Tangled Up in Blue better than anyone and the live version on the double album is my favorite. I always like the Dylan rocker Tough Mama. A nice version on the How Sweet It Is JGB release but I know I've heard some other good live ones. Any help here?

As for The Dead doing Dylan, I typically liked the songs that Bobby did the best. But overall, I love Jerry Band doing Dylan. You can preorder the Jerry Sings Dylan CD at the JerryGarcia.com site now. Favorite versions include Forever Young, Simple Twist of Fate, and I Shall Be Released. Too bad you can't get Jerry Band here.

Be sure to grab She Belongs To Me from 4-28-85 Frost Amphitheatre. It's the sweetest Jerry Does Dylan I ever witnessed. There are plenty of It's All Over Now, Baby Blues out there, such as 9-2-83 Boise, but She Belongs To Me was performed only nine times according to Deadlists, all in 1985. I wonder what the story behind that is. Why was it dropped?

I personally love when Jerry does "Train To Cry".

Best versions:

6/10/73 and great segue from CC Rider on 9/22/91.

Jerry Band shows have great versions also. 2/2/80 !!!
